Growga is an official Registered Children’s Yoga School through the Yoga Alliance. Growga offers one day intensives, weekend-long trainings, as well as a 95-hour Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher Training.

Our comprehensive children’s yoga teaching training program covers all you need to know about sharing yoga with children ages 2-18. To complete your 95-hour training, you must complete Modules 1, 2, & 3 of the training, as well as two one-day intensives. You will also teach nine 60-minute apprenticeship classes.

You may enroll in the entire consecutive program for a reduced price, or take each module individually on your timeline.

MODULE 1: ROOTS (Foundations of Teaching Yoga to Children)

Required module for the 95-Hour Teacher Training

Pre-requisites: None (200-hour yoga teacher training preferred but not required.)

Create a strong foundation for sharing yoga with children and teens (ages 2 to 18).

  • Study and practice the breathing exercises, yoga poses, games, and relaxation exercises you’ll share most often with your students.

  • Write age-appropriate, culturally responsive, trauma-informed yoga lessons that incorporate social-emotional learning competencies.

  • Establish a safe space for your students by setting healthy boundaries, building supportive relationships, and communicating effectively.

Friday: 6pm-9pm, Saturday: 8am-5pm, Sunday: 8am-5pm

This training is required for all prospective Growga teachers without formal kids yoga training. It can be taken as part of the 95-hour training or separately. Please note that taking this training does not guarantee you a teaching position at Growga.


MODULE 2: SPROUTS (Children’s Growth & Development)

Required module for the 95-Hour Teacher Training

Pre-requisites: Module 1

Dive deeper into how children and teens think, feel, and grow.

  • Explore students’ intellectual, emotional, and physical development.

  • Use the connection between the brain, body, and nervous system to improve your students’ learning.

  • Consider the unique anatomy and physiology of children and adolescents and apply that knowledge directly to your teaching.

MODULE 3: BLOSSOMS (Advanced Teaching Practices)

Required module for the 95-Hour Teacher Training

Pre-requisites: Modules 1 & 2

Cultivate and refine your yoga teaching for children and teens.

  • Find your authentic voice as a teacher.

  • Add to your teacher toolbox by incorporating partner poses, music, art, and drama. 

  • Communicate your work with the people in your students’ lives.

  • Practice teach and receive personalized feedback.

  • Share your teaching with the wider community.

One-Day Intensive: Yoga & Mindfulness in Schools

Required module for the 95-Hour Teacher Training

Pre-requisites: None (RYT-200 preferred but not required.)

You will need to complete two intensives as part of your 95-hour training.

Share yoga and mindfulness in elementary, middle, or high schools.

  • Review the benefits of yoga and mindfulness for student learning.

  • Communicate the benefits and recent research to key stakeholders (teachers, principals, parents, etc.).

  • Adapt yoga poses for the classroom environment, including students sitting at desks.

  • Problem solve common classroom management challenges.

One-Day Intensive: Trauma-Informed Practices

Pre-requisites: None (RYT-200 hour preferred but not required.)

You will need to complete two intensives as part of your 95-hour training.

Understand how yoga and mindfulness can support children and teens experiencing trauma.

  • Study the causes and context for trauma and chronic stress.

  • Examine the effects of trauma on student behavior.

  • Learn how key aspects of your yoga teaching (building supportive relationships, creating safe spaces, communicating effectively) can support students experiencing trauma. 

  • Minimize the potential dangers of mindful practices for trauma survivors, recognizing when to seek outside resources.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to do to get my RCYT certification through the Yoga Alliance? Growga is a Registered Children's Yoga School through Yoga Alliance. You must already have your RYT-200 certification to be eligible for the RCYT certification. Within our training program you must complete Module 1, Module 2, Module 3, two one-day intensives, and our apprenticeship program to be eligible for certification.

Can I take any of your trainings at any time? Module 1 and any of our intensives can be taken as standalone courses and with no previous yoga teaching experience. If you’re completing the full 95-hour training Modules 1, 2, and 3 are meant to be taken consecutively, starting with Module 1.

Does going through the 95-hour training guarantee employment as a Growga teacher? Participating in our trainings does not guarantee employment with Growga or placement with any of our partners.

How long do I have to complete my RCYT training and still get certified through the Yoga Alliance? You have 3 years from your first training with Growga to complete your 95-hour certification. If you do not complete your trainings within this time frame and wish to be certified by Growga, you will need to retake the modules, which are consistently updated.

What is your refund / cancellation policy? If you’ve signed up for an individual module or intensive, you will receive a 50% refund if you provide at least 14 days’ written notice. If you’ve signed up for the full 95-hour training, you will receive a 50% refund for any modules not completed if you provide at least 14 days’ written notice. If you cancel within 14 days or do not attend that module or intensive, your payment is non-refundable. Exceptions will only be granted in documented emergency situations.
