Meg Williams is a North Carolina native who earned her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Elon University, where she studied modern, ballet, jazz, tap, dance improvisation, production, somatic theories, and much more. She also studied psychology, including volunteering art at a local elementary school through an educational psychology course. She has many years of yoga and Pilates practice, and has found that in addition to performing and creating dance, she is passionate about making the concepts of technique and creation accessible to all.
Meg has performed and stage managed for many dance and theater companies in her tenure as a professional performing artist, including Slippage, The Bipeds, zoe|juniper, and Kearns Dance Project. She has had her choreography shown at state and regional conferences as well as in self-produced concerts, and has even choreographed for a couple of community theater musicals. She has been a substitute teacher or workshop artist for various classes, from baby ballet to teen musical theater dance to advanced modern and release technique, in studios and schools from Greensboro to Durham, and currently teaches Ballet Basics for Adults weekly at Downtown Yoga & Barre in Burlington.
