Guys, this week, I hit my limit. I am ready for winter to make it's exit. I am over the sickness, over the freezing cold, the rain, and the grey skies. Reclaim Gratitude

IS IT JUST ME, OR DOES IT SEEM LIKE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON IS MAKING AN APPEARANCE SO MUCH EARLIER THIS YEAR?

One second, I am trick-or-treating with my kids and watching the leaves turn, then, I blink, and Christmas music is playing and I am surrounded by holiday decorations. I must say, I LOVE Christmas music and I am all for it (if you know me, you know I program my car presets to play Christmas music as early as possible.) However, it worries me that Thanksgiving is not even a consideration, outside of what to eat and where we need to travel to make sure we check our “family time” boxes.

6 Tips to Help Ease Your Child’s Fear of Storms

Yesterday in class, a student comes up to me with wide-eyes and a very serious look on her face. “The flood is coming,” she says.

“Oh, it’s okay,” I say quickly, not wanting to start a class-wide discussion about the impending storm.

But then, I started to think, how do we talk to our kids about storms? How do we keep them calm when we are also racked with fear about what could happen?
